The Filter drop-down typically appears to the right of the View drop-down on screens that have lists of players, like the Roster screen.
Where a view answers the question "What pieces of data would you like to view?" A filter instead answers the question, "Whose data would you like to view?" By default, FHM displays data for all relevant people for the current screen. For example, the draft screen displays all players in the draft. A team roster displays all of the players on that team. Filters are used to narrow down the list of players whose data you are viewing.
In FHM, Filters are primarily used to filter lists of players by position. You have the following options:
Filter | Usage |
All | Shows all players that qualify to be displayed on that screen. |
Goalies | Shows only the goaltenders that qualify to be displayed on that screen. |
Skaters | Show only the non-goaltenders that qualify to be displayed on that screen. |
Defense | Show only the defencemen that qualify to be displayed on that screen. |
Offense | Show only the forwards that qualify to be displayed on that screen. |
Left Defense | Show only the left defencemen that qualify to be displayed on that screen. |
Right Defense | Show only the right defencemen that qualify to be displayed on that screen. |
Left Wing | Show only the left wingers that qualify to be displayed on that screen. |
Centers | Show only the centers that qualify to be displayed on that screen. |
Left Wing | Show only the right wingers that qualify to be displayed on that screen. |
Note that the positional filters sort by primary position - players who have secondary ability at that position will not be displayed.
